BLDP 2011

The Blue Lake Dance Project is gearing up for an exciting winter. Word is spreading fast and, after our first two successful years, we have been contracted to begin classes with three different sites in January! We are thrilled about the growth and hope to not only reach more students, but also continue to grow the quality of our classes.

In January we will be offering ballet, jazz and hip-hop to over 150 students. These classes require dance shoes, ballet bars, 12 teachers and healthy snacks. Our site coordinators and BLDP have received grants from multiple state agencies to support the upcoming classes, but many of these grants require a match.

Please consider one of the following donations as you do your end of year gift/tax planning:
$200 - Ballet Bar
$100 - Expenses for one student
$45 - Teacher for three classes (one afternoon)
$15 - shoes for one student

*Donations go directly to programming, we have no administrative costs.

Your generous donations have made it possible to bring dance to 250 students and we look forward to even bigger and better things this year!

Summer Dance Camps!

Blue Lake Dance Project has had a second fantastic year, serving over 150 young dancers with 3 sessions of instruction and performance. As we move into summer, we hope scholarship 60 students into summer dance camps, giving the kids an opportunity for intensive dance training during a time when many have nothing to fill their days.

Please consider making a donation today in honor of a dancer in your life, you just never know where these amazing kids go with your help.

In January we will be taking our program to Zanewood Recreation Center. Our teachers are looking forward to working with a whole new batch of young, inspired dancers.

As always, we need to continue to give our students the best experience possible, which includes dance shoes, snacka and the best instructors we can provide. Please consider a donation to BLDP today, mail your check to:

A school for dance, a place for everyone.

The Blue Lake Dance Project (BLDP) offers dance classes for elementary age children, grades 1-6, in after school programs.  Students learn a variety of forms, including ballet, contemporary and hip-hop, from some of the best dance instructors in the Twin Cities.  Each 12-week session concludes with a student performance for family and friends.  Snacks and dance shoes are be provided for all of our students.

All BLDP classes are free of charge. All perspective students must audition to join our classes.  Our students must adhere to a strict contract of excellent attendance, behavior and participation.  Students must wear black and/or blue T-shirts, sweat pants, shorts or leggings and their dance shoes to every class.
